Porsche says the first Cayenne Electric buyers are mostly new to the brand. Alexis Truscott, Porsche Cars Australia’s PR and marketing director, said it is “a mix of both, with the larger majority being new to Porsche” when asked about the buyer profile. The comments came as the 2027 Cayenne Electric lineup began arriving at dealers across the country. ⁷¹¹

The Cayenne Electric is being sold alongside the existing Cayenne range, rather than replacing it outright. Porsche says the combustion-engined and plug-in hybrid Cayenne models will continue in parallel, with the company describing the new EV as part of a flexible choice of powertrains. ⁷³

Australian model details

Porsche has added the Cayenne S Electric to the local range as the middle variant. It uses a 400kW dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, rising to 490kW with Launch Control, and is claimed to reach 100km/h in 3.8 seconds. Porsche says the S Electric is available to order now and is expected in Australia from the third quarter of 2026. ¹⁶

The broader Cayenne Electric lineup uses a 113kWh battery and 800-volt charging architecture. Porsche says the battery can charge from 10 to 80 per cent in about 16 minutes under specified fast-charging conditions, while the Australian cars are also listed with features such as privacy glass, the Parking Entry Package and digital radio. ¹³

Pricing and range

Australian pricing starts at $167,800 for the Cayenne Electric, $193,100 for the Cayenne S Electric and $259,900 for the Cayenne Turbo Electric, before on-road costs. Porsche says the Turbo Electric produces up to 850kW and 1,500Nm in Launch Control, while the base model is rated at 300kW in normal driving and the S at 400kW. Porsche also says the Cayenne line retains a braked towing capacity of up to 3.5 tonnes. ¹⁶⁹
