Plan your SMS campaigns
Campaign ideas and preparation checks for service reminders, stock alerts, finance enquiries and customer follow-up. Review audience, consent, message content and delivery before sending.
Before you start
For authorised dealership marketing users. You need an approved audience, documented consent, a configured sender, reviewed campaign content and an approved test recipient. This guide provides campaign categories and checks; copyable message templates still need editorial and compliance review.
Editorial review: 23 September 2026. Controls depend on your enabled dealer configuration; confirm access with the DriveAgent team.
For commercial messages, ACMA explains consent, sender identification and unsubscribe obligations. Review ACMA’s current guidance before approving a campaign.
Yournextsteps
Work through the checks below with the person responsible for your dealership configuration.
Service reminders
Check the service record and booking destination before drafting a reminder. Mileage/time triggers, recall notices and warranty alerts remain in the blueprint; confirm the source data and configured trigger for your campaign. Measure bookings from your own campaign results.
New stock alerts
Start with the approved audience and current vehicle availability. Confirm any preference filters and destination links before sending. Matching by make, model, body, price and colour remains a configuration requirement to verify for your account.
Finance enquiries
Use finance messages to arrange an authorised follow-up. Confirm approved wording and any indicative repayment assumptions with the finance team. A calculator interaction is not a credit approval or a reason to invent an expiring rate.
Re-engagement campaigns
Review consent and suppression status before including inactive contacts. Do not send marketing to opted-out contacts to ask them to opt in again. Draft the proposed sequence and approve each follow-up condition before activation.
Appointment confirmations
Confirm the appointment time, location and a working reschedule path. Test the reminder against an approved test booking. Choose timing to suit the appointment and measure attendance without assuming a percentage improvement.
Post-purchase follow-up
Plan delivery check-ins, surveys, referrals or accessory messages against the customer journey. Confirm the purpose, audience and consent for each message. The original staged follow-up sequence remains a requirement to configure and test, not a universally active schedule.
Review before you launch
Confirm configuration, approvals and support arrangements with your team. Test the customer journey using approved test details before switching on customer-facing activity.

Questions andchecks
An authorised user can open SMS campaigns and create a campaign with an internal name, message and audience filters. Preview the saved campaign and use the test-send workflow with an approved test recipient. Check the final message, rendered fields and destination links before authorising the send.
The composer displays character and segment counts, but the inspected counter is a simple estimate. Encoding, long-message segmentation and provider charges affect actual billing. Confirm the final rendered message and provider estimate; do not treat the editor count as a guaranteed cost.
Use the variables offered by your current campaign editor and preview them against the selected audience. The blueprint includes customer, vehicle, price, repayment, service-date, dealer and booking-link fields. Confirm missing-data behaviour and never assume an unavailable variable will render correctly.
Choose a schedule and timezone appropriate to the campaign and recipients. Quiet-hour controls remain a requirement to verify in the configured send path. This guide has no verified best-performing hour or automatic national quiet-hour guarantee.
The campaign processor checks SMS consent when selecting recipients and again before each send. It adds an opt-out instruction when one is absent. These controls do not certify the legality of a particular campaign: review audience permission, sender details, unsubscribe operation and current ACMA guidance.
Use approved test contacts to verify consent checks, STOP handling, suppression across campaigns, sender identity and message records. Channel-wide suppression, quiet hours, voice-campaign DNCR checks and recurring compliance audits remain blueprint requirements until their configured paths and operating process are verified.
