Ford confirms diesel Tourneo exit, cuts electrified Transit Custom prices

Ford shifts Tourneo to PHEV only

Ford Australia will drop diesel from the Tourneo people mover next year and move to a plug-in hybrid-only 2027.25MY range. The Active is priced from $73,340 plus on-road costs and the Titanium X from $76,840 plus on-road costs. ¹

The new Tourneo PHEV uses a naturally aspirated 2.5-litre petrol engine, an electric motor and an 11.8kWh usable battery, driving the front wheels through an electronic continuously variable transmission. Ford quotes combined output of 171kW and up to 51km of electric-only driving range. ¹

Transit Custom pricing and specification changes

Ford has also confirmed lower pricing for the Transit Custom PHEV and battery-electric E-Transit Custom. For 2027.25MY, the Transit Custom PHEV Trend LWB drops to $63,990 plus on-road costs and the Sport SWB to $66,390, while the E-Transit Custom Trend LWB falls to $73,990 and the Sport SWB to $76,390. ¹¹⁰

Both electrified Transit Custom variants gain 2.3kW Pro Power Onboard as standard. Ford says the system can supply 230-volt AC power from the vehicle’s high-voltage battery for tools, lighting, laptops and battery charging between jobs. ¹

The E-Transit Custom also receives a larger 71.45kWh usable battery, up from 64kWh. Ford says the Trend LWB’s certified range rises from 301km to 340km, while the Sport SWB increases from 307km to 346km. ¹
